Sure you can run in cowboy boots...if they're pink.
On the Sunday before the Pittsburgh Marathon, I ran a 15K on the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail. I wanted to test 'run' my new fuel belt and practice holding back the adrenaline at the starting line to keep my pace slower early and increase it later.

Everything went according to plan. The weather was warm and sunny with a cool breeze. My fuel belt didn't annoy me by bouncing around. I refrained from going all out at the start and instead gradually increased my pace during the first 3 miles and kicked it into high gear the last two miles. I could have kept a fast pace the entire time, but wanted to practice my plan for the marathon.

Approaching the finish line I saw Makayla bouncing up and down in her pink cowboy boots and cheering me on.  I had to stop and give her a quick hug before officially crossing the finish, which meant another woman passed me, but it was worth it.
